On 9th November, 2011, The Southern Co-operative opened a new premium neighbourhood top up store in Winchester city centre.
The Right Worshipful, the Mayor of Winchester, Councillor Barry Lipscomb attended the opening ceremony and received a donation of £500, presented as a large cheque, to the Mayor’s Charity Appeal Fund. The money will be shared amongst The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, The Rifles’ Care for Casualties appeal and Winchester Cancer Research Trust.
The Mayor of Winchester and Store Manager, Alex Bland, shared the ribbon cutting to officially declare the store open.
Opening the store was a very positive experience and highlight in my retail career. Comments from the colleagues at city road have been very positive along with great customer feedback.
